Sally Lesser Designs creates made to order garments specializing in costumes for flamenco dancing. Other costumes include work for theater, television, film and other forms of dance. In addition, Sally creates bridal gowns and other formal and red carpet gowns. Alterations, re-styling, up-cycling and repair work are also available for all types of garments. Sally Lesser started her business after working in television and theater for twenty years and winning numerous awards including 3 Emmy Awards. She has been sewing since she was a child and studied draping and pattern making at New York's Fashion Institute of Technology. before she started her career in television, Sally worked at the prestigious Juilliard School making costumes for actors, dancers, and singers. Based in NYC, Sally's clients include professional dancers and actors from all around the world as well as brides and anyone who wants to look great in their clothes. In 2000, I started taking flamenco dance classes.At the time I was employed at ABC Television as an Emmy Award winning costume designer on One Life to Live and was designing theatre costumes on the side. A few years later I attended a flamenco fashion show in Spain. This experience coupled with my background of design and sewing inspired me to start my own small business bringing NYC style to the beautiful art of flamenco dressmaking.
